It is a form of meditation that uses a set of relaxation techniques and which focuses on bringing a balance, relaxation, and well-being of the Chakras.
In chakra meditation are various focal points in the body that has been used in ancient meditation practice. It dominated the inner traditions of the Indian religion.
There are 7 chakras that run all the way in the body midline from the base of the spine to the top of the head. The energy moves through these chakras and they are thought to be gatekeepers for their respective areas. When one chakra in a given region is blocked, energy gets stuck in this particular region causing a discomfort.

It’s located at the base of the spine and relates to our foundations and basic needs. When blocked, one needs a connection to the world to bring it into balance.
It is located in the lower abdomen, connecting all the others and accepting change. This chakra relates to when one feels pleasure, passion and sexual energy. It can get blocked by a variety of ways such as sexual abuse while young. To break such chakras, one has to cut ties with their worse past and mend fences with their trauma, abuse or sexual abuse.
Solar Plexus Chakra
It is located in the upper abdomen and governs self-confidence. When energy in this chakra is excessive, one may feel the need to show off or control others. If the energy is blocked, one feels shy and insecure. The remedy to it is trying to visualize the events of the day ahead and navigating through it.
It relates to how we process information. It is the middle chakra and connects between the lower and upper chakras. The lower chakra is more about physical energy and upper chakras are more the head and spirit.
When the energy is out of balance in this chakra, they feel out of balance and thus unable to speak or honoring the truth. When silenced all our lives, it becomes blocked. Addressing the chakra one needs to get in touch with the emotions.
Third eye chakra
It gives the power of seeing beyond the obvious. It is found between the eyebrows. This chakra will malfunction as a result of anxiety or being overwhelmed about the future, eliminate blockage to this chakra, mindful chakra meditation to the inner voice.
It is located at the top of the head and it is the only gateway to a higher consciousness.
Each chakra becomes a focal point that relates to spiritual, physical and emotional energies. The body parts and the brain will interact through them.
Chakra meditation Process
Start by sitting in a comfortable position with your spine straight and not ridged. Pay keen attention to each part of your body starting with your feet and working upwards. This should be followed by body relaxation and allowing stress to go away.
Then focus on your breath. Allow it to be steady and deep. The mind will wonder and gently bring it back to the breath. One has to visualize the oxygen coming out of your bloodstream. Nonetheless, visualize the beauty of the heart and the function of the body.
Lastly, imagine a life-giving energy that one is breathing along with the air.
